Blast Shatters Funeral Rites For Mother Of Taliban Spokesman

An explosion has taken place close to a funeral ceremony for the mother of the Taliban's main spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, in Kabul, the Taliban said on Sunday, Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) reported.

The blast took place at a gathering of people near the gate of the Eidgah great mosque in the capital, the Taliban statement said.

According to the statement released by Mujahid himself, the blast has caused deaths and injuries among civilians. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
