Arrey Perez, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), announced that the new destinations include Bangkok, Cheongju, Hong Kong, Macau, Narita, and Taipei for international flights, and Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Coron, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, and Puerto Princesa for domestic flights.
Perez stressed their optimism for CIAC’s outlook this year, especially after the airport nearly reached the 2-million mark for passenger volume in 2023.
He highlighted that the introduction of new domestic and international routes will be instrumental in driving passenger volume growth this year.
“We are continually expanding the operations of the Clark International Airport. The terminal building has a capacity of 8 million passengers per annum. The capacity we are targeting for this year is 4 million,” Perez stated.
He further explained that the recovery from the pandemic and aggressive tourism plans will fuel passenger traffic at Clark Airport. Perez also disclosed that besides attracting passenger airlines, CIAC anticipates more cargo operators and new players in logistics to establish themselves in Clark.
