Outgunned Ukrainian forces are set to receive artillery rounds soon through a Czech initiative aimed at addressing Ukraine's ammunition shortage, according to Kyiv's top diplomat.

The Czech Republic, having located 800,000 artillery rounds in third countries, has secured funding to purchase a first batch of 300,000 shells, marking a significant effort to support Ukraine's defense against Russian forces.
The initiative, spearheaded by Czech defense policy chief Jan Jires, aims to bridge the ammunition gap faced by Ukraine, which was exacerbated by previous geopolitical decisions.
The funding was raised through collaboration with allies, excluding the USA, due to political considerations in certain countries.
