This decision comes after the company halted its entire production in Japan last month due to safety test rigging, as reported by Kyodo News.
The automaker plans to restart production at its factory in Kyoto Prefecture, with consideration to resume operations at another plant in Oita Prefecture on February 19 or later.
However, operations at two remaining factories in Osaka and Shiga Prefectures will remain halted until March 1.
Daihatsu's production was suspended after admitting to falsifying safety testing data for most of its models, resulting in a shipment ban at home and abroad. The Japanese transport ministry lifted the ban on some vehicles earlier in the month after confirming their safety through independent testing.
