An official of the Department of Education has been slapped a suspension order for five counts of grave misconduct, conduct grossly prejudicial to the best interest of the service, simple dishonesty, two counts of conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, misconduct, and various violations.

Suspended was Sheila Marie A. Primicias, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and Officer in Charge, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent Schools Division Office 1, Pangasinan, upon the recommendation of Atty Alberto Escobarte, Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs and which was approved by Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones.

Ms. Primicias, according to the Administrative Case filed, was slapped a grave misconduct charge “by persuading, inducing or influencing the teachers, principals and district supervisors to sell and/or buy tumblers from her or identified suppliers in an amount of P200 each or a total amount of more or less P649,100 and for involving the Public Schools District Supervisors, School Heads, and teachers in the collection of the proceeds of the sale of tumblers for “Suporta para sa Atleta’s” fundraising activity initiated by OIC SDS Primicias.”

Other charges on grave misconduct were also included in the administrative charge that involves the organization of a photoshoot in Bani East Integrated School that required “the teachers to pay an amount of P220 for the photoshoot in violations of Sections 3 and 4 of RA 3019 which is tantamount to Grave Misconduct and Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of the Service. That photoshoot was made on November 1, 2019, according to the charge sheet.
