Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is continuing its smoking-hot development streak across the globe as the legendary Texas-born brand announced its entrance into the Philippines.

With this exciting worldwide expansion news, Dickey’s Executive Vice President Jim Perkins and Master Partner, John Lee, of the San Francisco Bay region recently visited the Philippines with a solid framework to establish the first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Manila in the second Quarter of 2023.


John Lee is a real estate professional and a restaurateur who already runs a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in the San Francisco Bay Area, a national burger chain, and has created his own ideas, including Burmese and Peruvian cafes.



John's son, Max Lee, current Owner/Operator of the Bay Area Dickey’s, will manage the Philippine expansion and the construction of an additional 40 outlets.


“We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing the best Legit. Texas. Barbecue. across the globe to the Philippines in 2023,” said Jim Perkins. “With the representation of the Lee family, we have no doubt that the upcoming Dickey’s development will be a major success."

With this latest news, Dickey’s continues to grow its international presence as the world’s largest barbecue brand and franchise. With approximately 550 BBQ restaurants located in Brazil, Egypt, Japan, Pakistan, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.

At Dickey’s, all barbecued meats are smoked onsite in a hickory wood fire pit. Dickey’s boldly thinks there’s no shortcut to true barbecue and it’s why its name isn’t BBQ.
