DTI Acting Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque submitted to Converge Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy a list of priority areas that need to be connected to fiber broadband and the firm’s technology services.

“These priority areas are those with Negosyo Centers, located in remote and far-flung places,” she said.

Secretary Roque stated, “The DTI recognizes the critical role of digitalization in MSME (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise) development—it is at the heart of our five-point agenda. We are dedicated to providing MSMEs with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive in the digital age. Our partnership with Converge brings us a step closer to that goal.”

She also noted that the partnership with Converge ensures MSMEs will have the essential tools and technology needed to compete both locally and globally.

Uy said, “Our battle cry at Converge is to leave no one behind. Our aim is to elevate the competitiveness of MSMEs. We want to give them a fighting chance to reach not only a nationwide audience but a global one as well.”

He emphasized that Converge’s investments across the country also align with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to prioritize establishing connectivity in remote and isolated islands.
