A total of 517 job seekers have so far applied online for local employment in Dumaguete City through its  Public Employment Service Office (PESO) program of the city.

The virtual special recruitment activity, which will last until Sept. 18, is part of the city government’s lineup of activities in celebration of this year’s 120th Civil Service Month.

The participating local employers with the corresponding number of applicants are ADEC Innovations Healthcare, Inc., a business process outsourcing company or BPO (112 applicants); Agape R&R Foods, a wholesale/retail outlet (65); Lee Super Plaza/Dynamic Development Corporation, a wholesale/retail department store (171); Qualfon Dumaguete, another BPO (2); Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., a wholesale/retail mall (103); D’ Solid Ace Construction and Development Corporation (60); and JJ Dynamic Holding, Inc., a wholesale/retail construction company (4).

Each of the participating companies has provided a link for the jobseekers to visit and fill out/file their online applications rather than ask them to go to the PESO in person as practiced before quarantine restrictions were imposed due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat, Mira said.

Applicants are asked to log in via their Gmail account and open the link of the company preferred and to proceed with the online application steps.

Some of the job positions include registered nurses, accounting staff, cashiers, service crew, verifiers, housekeeping, and store supervisors, among others.

Applicants will be contacted directly for screening and interview, Mira said.
