EU Regrets US Congress Decision on Ukraine Funding

The European Union (EU) deeply regrets the decision of the US Congress to pass a spending bill without additional funding for Ukraine, according to the bloc's foreign policy chief.

Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, expressed regret but believes the decision will be reconsidered.

He mentioned the existential threat the war in Ukraine poses to Europe. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that they are working with both sides of Congress to ensure continued support.

Rustem Umerov, Ukraine's defense minister, received assurance from US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that US military support would continue.
