Japanese chemical and cosmetics giant Kao Corp. has developed a new insecticide-free mosquito spray that immobilizes and exterminates the pesky insects, Yuki Machino reported for Mainichi Japan.

Kao focused on surface-active agents, which are widely used in products such as dish soaps and shampoos. Worldwide, dengue affects 390 million people annually, with 20,000 dying yearly.
