The Tokyo-based company will launch two new models to mark the 40th anniversary of the QuickSnap series, marketed in Japan under the "Utsurundesu" brand.

The QuickSnap Black and White model is scheduled for release as early as September at a suggested retail price of about 4,300 yen (approximately $26). T

he camera is designed to produce monochrome photographs with a distinctive artistic look without requiring advanced settings.

Meanwhile, the waterproof QuickSnap Active model will go on sale in early August for around 4,480 yen. It is capable of shooting underwater at depths of up to 10 meters.

Fujifilm said more than 1.7 billion QuickSnap cameras have been sold worldwide. Although sales declined after peaking in 1997 because of the rise of digital cameras and smartphones, demand has rebounded since 2021 as consumers increasingly value the nostalgic experience of film photography.

"The experience is valued, rather than the camera's functions," said Ryuichiro Takai of Fujifilm's Imaging Solutions Division.
