GAS, DIESEL, LPG PRICES UP TODAY

Oil companies have announced another price increase in fuel products as well as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) starting today Dec. 1.

Chevron, Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum, PTT Philippines, Seaoil, Shell, and Total said diesel prices will increase by PHP1.10 per liter and gasoline prices will go up by PHP1.15 per liter.

Chevron, Seaoil, and Shell will also hike kerosene prices by PHP1.10 per liter.

Petron said prices of LPG products will likewise increase effective Tuesday, reflecting the international contract price of LPG for the month of December.

Petron said it will implement a price hike on household LPG by PHP0.96 per liter, or a PHP10.56 increase for a standard 11-kilogram LPG tank.

Meanwhile, Laban Konsyumer, Inc. (LKI) president Victorio Mario Dimagiba has urged the Department of Energy (DOE) to strengthen its oil price monitoring as price freeze is still implemented in Luzon until Dec. 3.

This after the entire island was placed under state of calamity by President Rodrigo Duterte on Nov.18 due to impacts of recent typhoons.

"There should be no increases in kerosene and LPG," said Dimagiba, who is a former trade official.

Under the Price Act, price freeze for kerosene and LPG shall be implemented for 15 days in areas declared under state of calamity.

"We reiterate our public appeal for the oil companies to defer reported price increase for Tuesday, December 1, for the duration of the SOC (state of calamity) which is 60 days," Dimagiba added.
