Germany Expects Better Q4 GDP Performance

Germany, Europe’s biggest economy, reports annual gross domestic product (GDP) figures for the year, with experts predicting better performance than the already positive report for the third quarter of 2022, when GDP grew a tad better at 0.3%, William Langley reported for Financial Times.

In the UK, shareholders of Britishvolt, which is supposed to spearhead a homegrown battery industry through its plans to develop a £3.8-billion plant in northeast England, vote on a proposed takeover by Indonesia-linked investment fund DeaLab.
Britishvolt Chairman Peter Rolton told investors that Britishvolt would be likely to fall into administration if the deal were not approved, which would be “catastrophic” even as the company also pledged to consider other offers.
UK homebuilder Taylor Wimpey is releasing a trading update.
In November, the company warned that over the previous five months, it had been selling homes at around half the pace of the first half of the year. The number of Taylor Wimpey homebuyers canceling purchases ahead of completion jumped by more than 50%.
