Globe Ramps Up Relief in Typhoon Uwan Areas, Continues Tino Response

Globe continues to support communities affected by Typhoon Uwan, while restoration and relief efforts remain ongoing in areas previously impacted by Typhoon Tino.

As of the latest update, Uwan has weakened into a typhoon and is now over the coastal waters of Bacnotan, La Union. Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges are expected across Luzon, including Metro Manila.


The typhoon is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Tuesday.


Relief and Restoration in Uwan-Hit Areas


Globe has activated Libreng Tawag, Charging, and WiFi (LT/LC/LW) services in eight (8) confirmed areas to assist affected residents. Additional activations are ongoing in other impacted provinces.


Through Alagang Globe, 600 meals were distributed to 200 families in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, and Aparri, Cagayan, as part of the company’s continuing relief operations for storm-affected communities.

Network restoration is progressing steadily, with 100% availability in Aklan, Antique, Biliran, Bohol, Capiz, Eastern Samar, Guimaras, Iloilo, Northern Samar, Western Samar, and Siquijor; 99% in Palawan; and ongoing efforts in Cebu (95.5%), Leyte (93.3%), Negros Oriental (98%), Negros Occidental (79%), and Southern Leyte (67%).


Ongoing Efforts in Tino-Hit Areas


Globe also continues to provide connectivity and assistance in areas previously affected by Typhoon Tino, with 100% network availability in the Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, 99.9% in Palawan (SLZ), and 99.27% in Cebu Province.

Libreng Charging and WiFi stations remain active in four barangays in Cebu City—Guba, Angsungot, Binaliw, and Cambinucot—from November 9 to 11, operating daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM to support residents’ communication needs.
