Three other Globe sites are in the process of transitioning to guaranteed renewable energy supply from ACEN, as disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

The facilities include the Globe Tower, its corporate headquarters in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, which transitioned to renewable energy in 2019.

Globe said that more sites are scheduled for transitioning this year as part of its commitment to sustainability and its active role in promoting renewable energy adoption in the country.

The company highlighted its partnership with ACEN RES due to the latter’s proven track record in delivering sustainable and reliable renewable energy solutions.

Through this partnership, Globe aims to reduce its carbon footprint as part of its net zero strategy. By transitioning to renewable energy, these facilities have avoided an estimated 42,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions from Globe’s 2023 energy consumption.

Eric Francia, President and CEO of ACEN, stated, “Digitalization and sustainability are at the very core of the Ayala Group. We are excited to harness these synergies with Globe and help empower the Filipino people in a sustainable manner.”

Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe, expressed his gratitude for the partnership with ACEN RES, saying, “This milestone marks a significant step towards our goal of transitioning to renewable energy. By working together with ACEN RES, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint but also demonstrating our commitment to providing innovative digital solutions for Filipinos towards a sustainable future.”

To commemorate this achievement, Francia and Cu unveiled Globe’s "Powered by Renewable Energy" badge at the Globe Tower. The badge is awarded by ACEN RES to customers who have shifted to 100% renewable energy supply.

Globe's badge serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to sustainability and its active role in promoting renewable energy adoption in the Philippines.
