GLOBE VIDEO, DOWNLOAD SPEED CITED

Globe Telecom has been cited for the improved video experience of its customers aside from improved download speed which are essential attributes of the network improvements it has put in place.

Independent mobile analytics firm Opensignal in its report on users across five regions namely


Mindanao, National Capital Region (NCR), North & Central Luzon, South Luzon, and Visayas said that overall experience across four metrics  have  significantly improved in all five regions, between Q4 2018 and Q3 2020.


For Video Experience, Globe saw its scores improving in three out of the five regions. In North & Central Luzon and NCR, Globe’s score rose by 40.6% and 30.3%, respectively, between Q4 2018 and Q3 2020, while in South Luzon, it rose by 24%.


For Download Speed, Globe users in North & Central Luzon saw a significant improvement of 42.1%, while South Luzon and NCR improved by 35.1% and 33.8% respectively.


For 4G Availability, or the proportion of time users spent connected to 4G services, Globe registered improvements in all five regions, with South Luzon at 18.8%, North and Central Luzon at 16.2%, NCR at 9%, Mindanao at 8.1% and Visayas at 7.7%. 


Latency Experience for Globe users was among the lowest across local operators, with improvements in North and Central Luzon at 14% followed by NCR at 13.4% and South Luzon at 11.6%. Latency experience refers to the delay or lag that users experience as data makes a round trip through the network. 


Also, independent analytics firm Ookla® in its quarterly data showed that in terms of mobile consistency score, Globe is now enjoying  52-64% consistency in high population density areas including Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol and MIMAROPA. Mobile consistency score measures the number of incidences (viewed as percentage) of a provider's samples equal or exceed both a download threshold of 5 Mbps and upload threshold of 1 Mbps.
