In separate events held recently, Hedcor turned over the reconditioned tribal halls to various IP groups in the province, eliciting a wave of excitement and appreciation.
The Lumikapaw Ka Guihean Tribal Council of Elders, Guilang-Guilang Apo Datu Nanikunan Association, Santiago Tribal Community (SANTRICO), and Impakibel, Apo Man Asilan Tribal Association were all thrilled to receive the keys to their newly revitalized spaces.
These newly refurbished tribal halls adopt traditional architectural design which pays homage to the rich culture and customs of the indigenous tribes in the area. These chambers will serve as the beating heart of the IP communities, hosting gatherings, meetings, and even learnings.
Hedcor's President and COO, Rolando G. Pacquiao, highlighted the critical role the structures play in preserving the tribe's culture and strengthening the partnership between the company and IP communities.
"Our indigenous peoples are essential in our mission to drive change for a more sustainable future for the country, and we are proud to be their partner," Pacquiao said.
Datu Delfin Abunda, Tribal Chieftain of Barangay Guihean, couldn't contain his excitement and expressed his gratitude for Hedcor's unwavering support.
"Our sincere gratitude and highest respect to Hedcor for always prioritizing us...This would empower us, IPs, to strive even more in fostering unity and strengthen our roles as Hedcor's partner in peace and development," Abunda said.
With its 22 hydropower plants generating 278-megawatts (MW) of clean and renewable energy, Hedcor is creating ripples of change that will echo throughout the Province of Bukidnon for years to come.
