Prominent Hollywood producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Emma Thomas faced questions over their decision not to oppose the proposed merger between Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Speaking at CinemaCon, Bruckheimer said he had not been asked to sign an open letter opposing the deal and suggested that the merger is already well underway.
He expressed cautious optimism, citing David Ellison’s stated commitment to increasing film production output. Thomas acknowledged skepticism about large mergers, noting that past consolidations have not always delivered on their promises.
Both producers suggested that delaying the merger could negatively impact film production and the broader entertainment ecosystem.
