According to figures given by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Light Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Association, the model sold 103,948 units in the first half of 2022, a 6% decrease from the same period of the previous year.

The N-Box has maintained upbeat sales since its partial remodel in December 2021. Its output, which had to be restricted due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai and a semiconductor shortage, has now returned to normal following the lift of the lockdown in early June.

In June, N-Box sales increased 75.5 percent from the previous month to 15,149 units.

Toyota Motor Corp.'s Yaris, which topped the list in the first half of 2021, finished second with 81,580 units sold, a 31.5 percent decrease year on year. Toyota's Corolla finished third with 70,988 sales, a 31.8 percent increase over the previous year. Toyota will introduce a sport utility vehicle to its Corolla lineup in September 2021.
