Hyundai Recalls 226,000 Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Defects

Hyundai is recalling over 226,000 vehicles in the U.S., including Santa Fe SUVs and Elantra models from 2021 and 2022, due to faulty rearview cameras, the Associated Press reported.

The recall addresses an issue where solder joints on circuit boards can crack over time, potentially causing the cameras to fail. This defect could reduce visibility and increase the risk of pedestrian injuries.


Hyundai will notify owners starting January 19, 2025, and will replace the cameras free of charge. The company advises owners to contact their dealers for more information.
