“ELERA is perfectly suited to meet the requirements of the connected IoT world,” said Inmarsat CEO Rajeev Suri. "Global reach, exceptional resilience, higher transmission rates as well as smaller and more cost-effective end devices - all of this helps ensure that we will continue to be one step ahead of the competition when it comes to fulfilling our customers' requirements."

“ELERA is another indication of a company with real dynamism that is generating new innovations and strong performances,” Suri continues.

“I expect Inmarsat to see strong year-over-year growth in 2021 and that growth will span most of our businesses. Our progress was evident in the first half of the year when we saw strong growth in revenue and EBITDA, as well as robust cash flow. We have adapted our strategy to focus on driving growth, accelerating decision-making, innovating, and creating a more commercial, customer-centric culture."

ELERA builds on Inmarsat's position as number 1 in mobile satellite services (MSS) and will be a springboard for innovation by developing, accelerating, and scaling future-oriented use cases on land, on water, and in the air.

The basis of ELERA is the first-class L-band network from Inmarsat, whose innovation spectrum ranges from higher speeds to smaller, inexpensive end devices to [the previously announced] Inmarsat-6 satellites, of which the first (I-6 F1) is still to start before the end of the year.

Just 14 days after the announcement of ORCHESTRA, the world's first network that combines GEO, LEO, and 5G in a harmonious global communication solution, ELERA is making clear Inmarsat's clear strategic focus on the global mobility segment of satellite communication. At the same time, it is a signal for a dynamic company that creates important technological innovations and growth.
