Japan to Offer 590 Billion Yen To Rapidus In Chip Push

This subsidy, combined with the 330 billion yen already earmarked by the ministry, will total nearly 1 trillion yen in government financing for the Japanese chip venture.

The move underscores Japan's commitment to revitalizing the semiconductor industry, given the increasing importance of chips in ensuring economic security amidst heightened competition between the US and China.
