Rogan releases about 15 podcast episodes each month and attracts more than 80 million downloads and views, according to data cited in the report. In 2024, Spotify signed Rogan to a new three-year contract reportedly worth up to US$250 million.
"There was a time when podcasting was called 'the future of media,' but that future has arrived," Forbes reporter Matt Craig wrote.
"Top podcasters like Joe Rogan and Alex Cooper are among the biggest stars in the world, and they have the paydays to prove it," he added.
