US District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan issued a limited gag order on former President Donald Trump in his Washington D.C. federal election case, as reported by Gabriella Ferrigine for Salon.

The order will prevent Trump from publicly targeting her staff, special counsel Jack Smith, and members of his staff, as well as any other court personnel.
The former president is also prohibited from making inflammatory statements about the families of these individuals and potential witnesses in the case.
During the court proceedings, Chutkan reacted with laughter when Trump's attorney, John Lauro, argued that Trump had adhered to his pre-trial release conditions. "What you have put in place respectfully is working," Lauro stated.
Chutkan responded, "I have to take issue with you, Mr. Lauro."
Judge Chutkan emphasized that the issue was not about her personal preferences but about language that poses a threat to the administration of justice.
She pointed out that Trump is a criminal defendant facing four felony charges, and he must adhere to his conditions of release. Chutkan asked Lauro if he agreed with this, and he replied, "100%."
