According to Aatreyee Dasgupta of Reuters, the move comes months after a $1 billion U.S. government commitment to support the company’s missile propulsion business.

The investment includes plans to build new facilities to increase output for key defense programs, including systems such as Tomahawk missiles and Patriot interceptors.

The funding is tied to a $1 billion convertible preferred stake in L3Harris’ Missile Solutions unit, which is expected to go public in the second half of 2026 as a standalone company.

The expansion reflects rising global demand for defense systems as countries seek to replenish stockpiles amid ongoing geopolitical conflicts.
