El Dorado County is one of the few counties in the Greater Sacramento region that does not have to completely shutdown again. As a result, certain businesses saw a flood of activity on Tuesday, according to a report from KCRA 3 News.

On Monday, Gov. Gavin Newsom rolled back the state's reopening due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. All counties in the state had to close indoor operations for restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment, zoos, museums and cardrooms. However, 29 counties on the state's COVID-19 watchlist are required to close indoor operations for additional sectors, like personal care services, gyms and places of worship.
El Dorado County is not on the watchlist, as of Tuesday.
At the Great Clips along El Dorado Hills Boulevard, Ken Candilas said he made the cut on the three-hour long reservation list.
“I heard these places were closing, but El Dorado Hills isn’t," Candilas said. "So, still want to get a haircut before it closes or anything else happens."
Susan Stevens was also able to squeeze in an appointment for her parents.
“I’m their transportation. So, I was trying to get it done before everything closes up if it’s going to close,” Stevens said.
But, she worries that out-of-towners are doing the same.
“People coming in from out of town forces me to stay home 'cause I don’t want to be mingling with everybody,” Stevens said.
On Tuesday, Village Nails was twice as busy. My Nguyen, who is a nail technician at the salon, said some of their calls came from out of town where people’s local nail salons have already closed.
“This morning, I have some call in say, ‘Are you still open?’ I say, ‘We are.’ They say, ‘In Sacramento, it’s all locked down now,’” Nguyen said.
With curtain dividers, hand sanitizer and masks, Nguyen said they have been taking health guidelines seriously -- which she hopes with help the county stay open.
“We are worried because the business, we still paying for the rent and everything,” she said.
