Marks & Spencer is considering a major expansion of its food store portfolio, just months after it was targeted by a cyberattack that cost the department store chain £324 million, Alice Scarsi and Oliver Radcliffe reported for the Daily Express UK.

The classic British retailer has already begun scouting around 500 sites across the UK as it pursues a significant expansion of the food side of its business.
M&S currently operates more than 300 shops nationwide, with the majority in the form of M&S Food outlets located in retail parks.
The business suffered a difficult start to the year, losing £324 million from a cyberattack that disrupted services for around four months, but it is now looking to bounce back with plans to double its brick-and-mortar footprint over the next few years.
