International Workers’ Day events took place across the United States on May 1, with organizers reporting roughly 3,500 demonstrations under the banner “May Day Strong,” according to Raw America.

Protests were held in major cities nationwide. In New York City, activists from the Sunrise Movement demonstrated outside the New York Stock Exchange.
In Portland, protesters gathered at a hotel reportedly hosting Department of Homeland Security officials. In Minneapolis, several individuals were arrested after blocking a bridge.
Demonstrations also took place in Memphis, Washington, D.C., and other cities, with participants advocating for labor rights, immigration reform, and economic justice.
Organizers described the day as a coordinated show of solidarity among labor unions, advocacy groups, and activists.
Leah Greenberg of Indivisible described the mobilization as a “structure test” for broader organizing efforts, including discussions around a potential general strike in the coming years.
