Meralco’s 2023 Combined Annual and Sustainability Report, “Pangako”, earned accolades from two esteemed awarding bodies: the 10th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA) and the Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2024.
ASRA recognized Meralco with the Silver Award under its Asia’s Best Sustainability Report – Governance category, ranking the company second among participants from 13 countries.
Meralco was praised for setting “a high benchmark for quality disclosures aligned with global standards and demonstrating leadership in managing sustainability impacts, risks, and opportunities with clarity and accountability.”
Meanwhile, Meralco was feted by ASRRAT for the fifth consecutive year, securing the Bronze Rank for its consistent excellence in communicating sustainability progress and performance.
“Pangako”, which details the achievements of Meralco and its subsidiaries in 2023, highlights the company’s collaborative approach and the critical role of stakeholders in its sustainability journey.
Beyond financial and operational performance, the report provides comprehensive insights into environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters that strengthen and deepen stakeholder trust.
"Transparent sustainability reporting is a cornerstone of Meralco’s commitment to ESG excellence, fostering trust with our stakeholders and enabling informed strategy development and decision making. By articulating and sharing our sustainability performance and impact, we aim to further drive transformative and meaningful change within our organization and beyond,” said Meralco First Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Raymond B. Ravelo.

Established in 2015, ASRA is one of Asia’s most prestigious platforms recognizing excellence in sustainability reporting.
Meanwhile, ASRRAT is led by the National Center for Corporate Reporting, recognizing companies for sustainability reports that disclose energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), among other criteria.
Meralco’s sustainability agenda, “Powering the Good Life”, established in 2019, is deeply rooted in the UN SDGs and is supported by four pillars: Power, Planet, People, and Prosperity.
