Ronnie L. Aperocho, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has been honored by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as the Outstanding Electrical Engineer of the Year.

This accolade, part of the PRC’s Outstanding Professionals of the Year awards, highlights Aperocho's significant contributions to the field of electrical engineering.
Aperocho was recognized for his exceptional service as a Meralco top executive and his influential role as Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Association of Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and Western Pacific (AESIEAP) from 2022 to 2023.
During his tenure, he promoted service excellence, digital transformation, and professional collaboration among electrical engineers.
The PRC’s Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is the highest recognition given to professionals who exhibit unparalleled competence, integrity, and excellence in their fields.
Aperocho's leadership in overseeing the operations of Meralco, the largest power distribution utility in the Philippines, underscores his dedication to advancing the industry.
In addition to his responsibilities at Meralco, Aperocho chairs the Board of Directors of Clark Electric Distribution Corporation and Comstech Integration Alliance Incorporated.
He also holds board positions at Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation, Meralco Energy Incorporated, Aclara Meters Philippines Incorporated, and Shin Clark Power Corporation.
Moreover, he serves on the Boards of Trustees for the Meralco Power Academy, One Meralco Foundation, and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation.
