The MVP Group of Companies has started giving hot meals to the frontliners of its hospital group as part of its commitment to help in containing the upsurge in the pandemic that has affected the country's attempt to revive the economy.

Dubbed the “Tulong Kapatid” initiative, the hot meal deliveries to nine hospitals under the group has begun the delivery of hot meals to its frontliners last Easter Sunday as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to ensure that they can concentrate fully on their primary role in treating COVID-19-afflicted patients.
Also, the hot-meal deliveries to be executed for the whole of April and beyond as needed is set to include other hospitals, part of the social commitment the MVP Group has undertaken in playing a part in the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which last year resulted in a minus 9 percent economic growth.
“In these uncertain times, we hold on to what we can be thankful for – a prime example of which are our brave frontliners,” says Group Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan. “The daily battle they’re fighting is unimaginable and we take it upon ourselves to give them strength, both physically and mentally, as our way of expressing solidarity with them,” he added.
The daily distribution of meals for COVID frontliners amid the alarming increase of COVID-19 cases formed part of the MVP Group’s thrust to help in the government’s COVID-19 response.
Last year Tulong Kapatid organized an immediate response to the depleting supplies of personal protective equipment (PPEs) in hospitals by purchasing as many resources as possible for the frontliners. This “second wave” CSR initiative for hot-meal deliveries came about in order not to let doctors, nurses and other medical personnel worry less about their food.
Fully aware of how Metro Pacific Hospitals Group’s frontliners have been at the forefront of defense, exposing them to a higher risk of infection with each upsurge, the group activated the Salamat mga MVPs initiative which aims to thank the true most valuable people in the new normal: the individuals who have been fighting tirelessly against the pandemic.
The Tulong Kapatid initiative is comprised of Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc., Maynilad, Metro Pacific Investments Foundation, One Meralco Foundation, and PLDT-Smart Foundation., distributed over 7,800 meals to nine hospitals under MPHHI - Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital, Marikina Valley Medical Center, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, De los Santos Medical Center, Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and Sacred Heart Hospital of Malolos - as well as government hospitals in Quezon City.
Public hospital beneficiaries included the East Avenue Medical Center, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Lung Center of the Philippines, the Philippine General Hospital, PNP General Hospital, Victoriano Luna General Hospital, and Rizal Medical Center.
