The New York Post has issued a sharp warning to President Trump about the political risks associated with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “anti-vax agenda,” Tom Sanders reported for The Daily Beast.

In an editorial published recently, the Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid criticized Kennedy’s controversial decision to fire the entire membership of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the federal panel that provides vaccine guidance.
Kennedy, a long-time vaccine skeptic, defended the move as an effort to “restore public trust above any specific pro- or anti-vaccine agenda.”
The Post—echoing criticism also voiced by The Wall Street Journal—responded by saying, “The White House needs to keep Kennedy on a short leash, lest he alienate rational Republicans and give Democrats ammunition for undermining the entire Trump agenda.”
Challenging Kennedy’s rationale, the editorial argued that ACIP’s entire purpose is to be pro-vaccine, asserting, “The jabs overall are objectively a life-saving public good.”
