Elon Musk, owner of satellite internet service Starlink, accused the Trump administration of breaching its agreement with his company amid disputes over charges, Dan Gooding reported for Newsweek.

Musk posted on X that the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) violated the terms of service by using Starlink in ways he claims were not permitted under its civilian plan.
“They made improper use of the Starlink civilian system for military purposes,” Musk wrote on X. “Direct violation of terms of service.”
Reuters reported, citing anonymous officials and internal documents, that tensions have emerged between SpaceX and the Pentagon over pricing, with SpaceX arguing that military use required higher-tier service levels than initially contracted.
A Pentagon spokesperson pushed back on aspects of the reporting, stating that SpaceX remains a “strong and valued partner.”
