Just hours before the Senate voted to pass President Donald Trump’s tax and spending bill, Elon Musk reignited his political activism, Hadas Gold and Tami Luhby reported for CNN.

Taking to his platform X, Musk lashed out at lawmakers who voted for the bill: “Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,” he wrote.
He went further, warning that if the bill passed, he would launch a new political party: “If the insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day… Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”
President Trump swiftly fired back on Truth Social, accusing Musk of hypocrisy: “Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history… Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop… Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
Trump referenced the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—a controversial new agency he created—suggesting it might investigate Musk’s government support.
