NEDA CHIEF, PSE EMPLOYEES GET JABS

Economic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua was part of a group of personnel from The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) who got Sinovac jabs courtesy of the Taguig City local government unit.

The Sinovac vaccines were done through a mobile bus that was stationed at the PSE offices as part of the LGU's thrust to advance the revival of the economy.


Chua, who heads the National Economic Development Authority, has been pushing for the early opening of business activities to nudge the economy to growth.

About 130 employees of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) were vaccinated together with Chua who proudly displayed his vaccine card afterward.


Two vaccination buses were stationed outside the PSE building at the Central Business District in Barangay Fort Bonifacio for the activity.


Mayor Lino Cayetano said the expanded vaccine rollout that now includes economic front-liners is vital in implementing the new normal and gradually reopening the economy.

"Our promise is to make vaccination accessible to all," he said. One vaccination bus can accommodate at least 500 daily.


Aside from looking forward to a better Christmas this year, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said the expanded vaccination program will give protection to families, the labor sector, and the economy in general.


PSE president and chief executive officer Ramon Monzon noted that people's confidence is considered one of the stock market drivers, "not only in the Philippines but also worldwide".
