This investment, aimed at revitalizing the coffee-growing community and fostering the revival of specialty coffee, marks a significant milestone in Nespresso's ongoing efforts to support coffee farmers worldwide.

The initiative, part of Nespresso's Reviving Origins program, targets the lush region of Kivu, once renowned for its exceptional Arabica coffee.

Decades of political instability and economic challenges had cast a shadow over the region, leading to a decline in coffee production. However, Nespresso's investment injects hope into the community, paving the way for a brighter future.

Guillaume Le Cunff, CEO of Nespresso, expressed his optimism, stating, "Kivu has the potential to be among the world's great coffee regions."

Through partnerships with organizations such as the Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI)/ASILI, TechnoServe, USAID, and others, Nespresso aims to empower local farmers, restore agricultural practices, and revitalize the coffee sector.

One of the core pillars of Nespresso's investment is sustainability. The company's AAA Sustainable Qualityâ„¢ Program, which has been instrumental in fostering sustainable practices worldwide, will play a crucial role in the DRC.

"Since we started working together, we have built a large health center and an entire water system in the farming community of Minova.  Today, our medical team provides safe deliveries and gets hundreds of kids ready for school. More than 22,000 people from the local community have access to clean water, and as displacement soars, we are a primary source of water for thousands of families fleeing violence," stated Leno.
