NETANYAHU VOWS TO TOPPLE ‘FRAUDULENT’ BENNETT GOV’T

Benjamin Netanyahu has rallied his party in his first meeting as opposition leader, asserting that his right-wing bloc of parties will work tirelessly to topple the "dangerous, fraudulent, leftist government," the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported.

The new Bennett-led government, he told Likud, Shas, United Torah Judaism and Religious Zionism, will fall due to the three factors that unite it: "hatred, exclusion and power. A lust for power that knows no bounds, and on this you cannot build a government."

He reiterated the claim that Bennett committed election fraud by deceiving his voters with promises he did not keep, something that Netanyahu himself has done in the last 12 years. He is also under trial for a raft of bribery, corruption and extortion cases.

He pointed to the 53 Knesset seats in his bloc, which he maintained are "steadfast and united" in their bid to oust the new government. Netanyahu added that the opposition will unite to topple this government at the first opportunity: "I led the opposition in 1995 and again in 2005. We worked hard, together, and in both cases, we achieved massive victories."

He stressed that he will enforce "ironclad discipline in the opposition," which has barely any room to maneuver, and that he requests cohesion and attendance from the parties' members at Knesset meetings.

"We know, and I can feel in my fingertips, what their weak points are."Netanyahu also requested that the bloc refrains from infighting. "If we clash with each other, we will not achieve" our objective, he said.

"Therefore, I request that you aim your canons outwards and attack if we have the opportunity to do so. If we focus all of our efforts, we can topple them, and we have a good reason to topple them: the good of the country."
