Nissan said it will stop operating one of its UK production lines and cut about 900 jobs across Europe, Jonny Manning and Theo Leggett reported for BBC News.

The company confirmed it will merge two production lines at its Sunderland plant that manufacture the Leaf, Juke, and Qashqai models. It said no jobs would be lost at the UK site as a result of the change.
However, the automaker is in talks to reduce around 10% of its European workforce. Plans include closing part of a warehouse in Barcelona and shifting to importing vehicles for Nordic markets.
A spokesperson said the changes are part of Nissan’s “Re:Nissan” recovery plan, aimed at creating a “leaner, more resilient business that adapts quickly to market changes.”
The company added that discussions with employees are ongoing as it seeks to streamline operations and ensure long-term profitability.
