No Final Decision on Qatar-Donated Air Force One After Trump Leaves Office

No final decision has been made about the future of the new Air Force One aircraft donated by Qatar after President Donald Trump's second term, a White House official told ABC News.

Trump has said for more than a year that the new aircraft—a Boeing 747-8—would eventually be transferred to his presidential library after his term ends.

Sources familiar with the proposed arrangement previously told ABC News that ownership of the aircraft could be transferred shortly before Trump leaves office to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation.

Questions remain about the aircraft's ultimate disposition, including whether it could be retained for presidential use, remain in the Air Force One fleet for Trump's successor, or be transferred under another arrangement.

The aircraft is not Trump's personal property simply because it was donated during his presidency. Its legal ownership and eventual disposition would depend on the terms of the donation and applicable federal rules.s
