A Ukrainian official has blasted Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett for pressuring Kyiv into surrendering to Moscow and argued that Bennett is “using mediation as an excuse to justify the fact that Israel is avoiding transferring military aid to Ukraine or joining the sanction slapped on Russia.”

Bennett's office denied the claims, Jonathan Lis reported for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz early on Mar. 13, 2022, but the Ukrainian official maintained that Israel’s mediation is “useless.”
The criticism was lodged after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said talks between Ukraine and Russia could take place in Jerusalem even as the two sides had engaged in three rounds of negotiations that led to Russia violating three ceasefires.
Russian attacks were sustained even as international humanitarian groups organized evacuations from Mariupol and in Kyiv.
Ukraine also reported that Russian forces abducted the mayor of the city of Melitopol, blasted a mosque, and launched attacks near Kyiv that were repelled by the Ukrainian army and volunteer fighters.
