Dresser is leaving less than a year after joining OpenAI. Rajic will take over the company's sales organization at an important stage in its effort to expand revenue and compete with rivals including Anthropic.

Reports said Dresser's departure was another in a series of senior executive exits at OpenAI this year.

The departure follows the announcement that Brad Lightcap, OpenAI's longtime chief operating officer, would leave the company after four years.

Fidji Simo, meanwhile, stepped back from her leadership role at OpenAI's applications business, citing health reasons.

The leadership reshuffle comes as OpenAI continues to expand its commercial operations and prepare for a potential public offering. Rajic will oversee the company's sales organization as OpenAI seeks to strengthen its enterprise business and revenue growth.
