OpenAI has become one of Oracle's largest new cloud customers, making the proposed infrastructure expansion a potential long-term benefit for Oracle.
However, Oracle's shares have come under pressure in recent months as investors questioned the company's rapidly rising debt, which has financed an aggressive expansion of AI-focused data centers.
According to a Stocktwits market analysis published on July 17, Oracle presents both significant opportunities and substantial risks in the artificial intelligence sector.
The report noted that Oracle's stock has fallen 54% from its 2026 high reached on June 1 and is down 65% from its peak last September.
While the lower valuation may appeal to some investors, analysts continue to monitor the company's growing debt burden as it expands its AI infrastructure business.
