Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai drew a record 218,130 visitors on September 13, organizers announced, Hideto Okazaki reported for Mainichi Japan.

Over the three-day stretch from September 12 — the Friday before the long weekend — through September 14, daily attendance exceeded 200,000. Attendance on September 12 reached 208,163, while preliminary figures for September 14 showed 207,000 visitors.
The previous record was set on September 6, with 209,837.
Guests are required to reserve their visit date and time in advance, and slots for the remaining weekends, holidays, and weekday mornings are nearly fully booked.
At a September 15 press conference, Deputy Secretary General Jun Takashina of the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition said: “A significant expansion of existing slots is difficult. There are still some openings for afternoons and evenings in October, so we encourage people to reserve early.”
The association also announced the closing ceremony will be held inside the Expo venue on October 13 at 2 p.m.
