PACGOR EXECS "AYUDA" FOR POOR

Updated: Apr 30

Executives from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor) have banded themselves together to give “ayuda” to the poorest of the poor in the metropolis twice a week in coordination with barangay leaders with the relief goods to be given “door-to-door” and health protocols in place.

Pagcor chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo unveiled what she termed a “massive” program to help the poorest of the poor who will be identified and notified of the relief drive early on and with the goods to be placed in chairs with the name of the beneficiary during today’s zoom media forum of the Kapihan sa Manila Bay hosted by Philstar’s Marichu Villanueva.

Domingo said the ayuda, which was conceptualized by a Pagcor Executive Committee, will be maintained until December this year and with quality food and with the assurance that there is person-to-person contact since barangay leaders will be made as distribution channels.

The Pagcor executives are contributing part of their salaries to the massive effort aimed at reaching the poorest of the poor in the metropolis. “Nakita naming marami naghihirap. That is why the intensive relief operations was conceptualized," Domingo said.

Dubbed “Pagkain sa Masa” the ayuda operation is set to start next week even as Domingo vowed that the poorest of the poor will have something to cook for their meals,
