PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro H. Tengco represented President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the caravan’s launch at the Quezon City MICE Center.
In his remarks, Tengco underscored the government’s efforts to bring public services closer to Filipinos.
“Isinasagawa natin ang nationwide na Handog ng Pangulo kung saan ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan, pambansa at lokal, ay maghahatid mismo sa inyo ng kanilang mga serbisyo,” Tengco said.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and National Housing Authority General Manager Joeben Tai also attended the event.
The Handog ng Pangulo 2026 was held in various locations nationwide in connection with President Marcos’ 69th birthday on Sept. 13.
Government agencies have described the initiative as a nationwide service caravan intended to bring programs and assistance directly to communities. Government agencies in several regions confirmed activities under the program on Sept. 14.
Tengco also encouraged Filipinos to take advantage of the assistance and services offered through the caravan.
“Sapagkat para sa Pangulo, ang pinakamahalagang handog sa araw na ito ay ang pagkakataong makapaglingkod sa sambayanang Pilipino,” he said.
A ceremonial awarding was also held for beneficiaries of various government programs, including housing titles from the National Housing Authority, assistance under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Sustainable Livelihood Program, toolkits from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and education assistance from the Commission on Higher Education.
