Pentagon Awards Raytheon $1.2-B To Build NASAMS For Ukraine

The US Department of Defense has awarded Raytheon a $1.2 billion contract to manufacture NASAMS for Ukraine.

Ukraine received two NASAMS systems in early November and deployed it to destroy Russian warplanes and missiles, Ukraine Daily reported.



CNN has reported that the US is considering to significantly expand training of Ukrainian forces. The expansion in training would include instructing 2,500 Ukrainian soldiers monthly at a US base in Germany, CNN reported, citing several US officials.


US Secretary OF State Antony Blinken also told CNN that NATO may invest in Soviet-era weapon systems to help Ukraine. Blinken added that the alliance was looking into helping Ukraine produce ammunition for the Soviet-era systems the country already possesses.

The EU is seeking to establish a tribunal for Russia's war crimes in Ukraine. Together with the International Criminal Court, the EU intends to help set up a specialized court to prosecute war crimes allegedly committed during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Nov. 30, Ukraine Daily reported.


Germany has recognized Holodomor as genocide against Ukrainian people. On Nov. 30, Germany’s Bundestag said Holodomor, the man-made famine of Ukrainians which killed millions in 1932-1933, as genocide of the Ukrainian people.


“From today’s point of view, the historical and political classification as genocide is obvious,” the Bundestag statement stressed.
