With lack of fresh economic impetus, the Philippine Stock Exchange had total trade today of just P3.77 billion with investors trying to gauge the market trailing immediately at the opening before clawing back to show a minimal gain.

There was an unmistakable air of exuberance in the market in today’s trade as buyers came in strong at the last minute with the index paring down its early losses to close , 5,654.70 points up by 0.51 %

The market opened weak with the index down by 67.38 points to 5,558.87 points an hour after the bell but investors  recovered their composure and cut those losses down by 45.78 points an hour later, 40.56 points 16 minutes before bell time and coasted along to a minimal 28.45 point gain at the close.

Losers led gainers, 114 to 56 with 53 shares unchanged and today’s trade show positive sentiment in tomorrow trading pattern absent any bad news from abroad such as a possible trade spat anew between the US and China.
