Pinterest believes that THE YES's mission to be the home of taste-driven shopping will be accelerated by THE YES's leadership, innovative technology, and brilliant team, which combines shopping expertise with an outstanding fashion industry reputation.
“THE YES team are experts in building an end-to-end shopping experience. They share our vision of making it simple to find the right products that are personalized for you based on your taste and style. We’re very excited about THE YES’s talented team and technology as we build dedicated shopping experiences on Pinterest,” said Ben Silbermann, Co-Founder and CEO of Pinterest.
THE YES has established a vast fashion taxonomy using human expertise and machine learning to fuel a complete algorithm in fashion, with hundreds of brand merchants on its site. THE YES' brand connections and buying knowledge may be transferred to other Pinterest categories including home, beauty, and food.
THE YES was launched in 2018 by eCommerce and fashion business veteran Julie Bornstein and tech industry veteran Amit Aggarwal. THE YES has grown to give a customized daily shopping feed that learns a user's style as they shop with hundreds of merchants throughout the fashion spectrum, including big names and discovery businesses.
Julie will report to Ben Silbermann, Pinterest's Co-Founder and CEO, and will oversee Pinterest's retail vision and strategy, establishing a new and strategic organization dedicated to Pinterest's taste-driven buying operations that will help influence the evolution of features for Pinners and merchants.
Pinterest is a shopping site that combines its audience's distinct commercial aim with the ability to visually explore things in the same way you would in a magazine or catalog. Pinterest is designed to facilitate inspired purchasing in a world of impulse purchases. It's like a catalog but tailored to your specific preferences.
Pinterest expects to retire THE YES app and website in the months following the transaction's completion, allowing the unified teams to focus on technological integration and growing its eCommerce ambition.
