PSE INDEX DOWN SOME MORE

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index posted a bigger loss today from its trading performance Monday as the property sub-sector keeled some more to push it down below a psychological milestone at 6,457.79 points, down 60.85 points or 0.93 percent.

Property giants Ayala Land and SM Prime posted losses today to push down the property index with a hefty 1.83 percent.
ALI lost a bigger amount of 75 centavos compared to its 45 centavo decline Monday as it emerged most active with P524 million trade closing at P33.30, while SM Prime, which was unchanged Monday posted a loss of 60 centavos to P35.
The financials also posted a loss of 1.78 percent compared to its gain Monday as BDO Unibank, Metrobank, and Bank of PI went down. BDO lost P2.10 to P101.40, Metrobank by a peso to P43.70 and BPI by P1.35 to P81.50.
Market bellwether SM Investments lost P.2 to P970 while ICTSI closed up by P1.80 to P126.60 to nudge up the services sector by 0.30 percent, while Metro Pacific also closed higher by 4 centavos to P3.95. Another gainer was Ayala Corp, which rose by P4.50 to P755.
Value turnover amounted to P6.09 billion with losers more than double gainers, 134 to 64 with 50 shares unchanged as brokers bewail the continued surge in coronavirus Cases and the lack of great economic news to counter the creeping sell down from foreign investors.
