PSE Index In Muted Rise

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index was up today in a muted rise to 7,203.72 points, up by 19 points or 0.26 percent with all sub-indices up but losers were ahead of gainers in trading that zeroed in on new IPO AllDay which sizzled at the opening but declined at the close.

AllDay, which Tuesday hit its 50 percent price freezing point, from its IPO price of 60 centavos to 90 centavos, opened at P1.10, its highest price point before tumbling down on investors cashing in their gains to a low of 71 centavos before nosing up to 74 centavos.


Value turnover amounted to P7.68 billion with AllDay accounting for P3.107 billion with gainers numbering just 80 against losers of 123 and 42 shares unchanged. Market bellwether SM Investments lost P8 to P990 although it hit a high of P1,002 and a low of P976.



Converge was the second most active with P303 million in trades as it advanced by P1.45 to P33 followed by Globe which gained P6 to P3,160.


All the sub-indices were up slightly with holding firms in a 0.01 percent rise, financials by 0.12 percent, industrials, by 0.57 percent, services, by 0.29 percent, mining and oil by 0.84 percent, and property, by 0.12 percent, as Ayala Land and SM Prime turned in mixed closing prices with the former up by 40 centavos to P36.65 and the latter down by 15 centavos to P34.55.

Among the gainers were AC Energy, up by 6 centavos to P12.26, Bank of PI, up by 40 centavos to P91.40, Monde, up by 8 centavos to P16.26, and Jollibee, up by P6 to P238.


The losers included PLDT, down by P10 to P1,624, Aboitiz Power, down 5 centavos to P33.95, and Dito CME, down 15 centavos to P6.70.
